Epiphone Elitist Sheraton Guitar Review :: Electric Guitar Reviews

one of the most elegant guitars of all time and a great jazz classic.

Description
Fully professional-quality guitars non-professionals can afford, the Elitist line from Epiphone combines over 125 years of instrument building experience and expertise with the finest materials. The results are musical instruments of impeccable quality and beauty.

Crafted with premium woods, fitted with American pickups and circuitry, the Epiphone Elitist Sheraton Guitar is made at a special factory devoted to its manufacture where it receives a high degree of hands-on luthier attention. Here Epiphone has beautifully reproduced one of the most elegant guitars of all time and a great jazz classic. Includes hardshell case.

Epiphone Elitist Sheraton Guitar, as all the Elite instruments, is equipped with custom-would pickups "Made in the USA" exclusively for Epiphone by Gibson Musical Instruments and are made with such uncompromising features as:

  • High Quality Cover Materials - All pickup covers use quality German silver with vintage Nickel or real 24K Gold finish.
  • Vintage Two-Conductor Wiring - Authentic two-conductor wiring with "braided" outer shielding for true vintage look and tone.
  • Full Wax Potting - Every pickup is potted in a special wax bath to insure that microphonic feedback due to internal vibration is elimated. All covered models receive a second wax bath to further protect the pickup.
  • Specially Made Magnets - All magnets are magnetized by Gibson to ensure the total reliability of each magnet's performance. Critical magnetic flux is maintained for the perfect combination of output without sacrificing tonal characteristics.

Sound of Epiphone Elitist Sheraton Electric Guitar

  • a different more calm sound then the Casino, very smooth;
  • can cover all the bases with amazing tones;
  • plays and sounds like a dream;
  • it isn't so thick and chunky as a Les Paul, nor is it as thin and spanky as a Strat, closest to a 335, but clearer, snappier, and more dynamically responsive;
  • very versatile, feel free to try any styles;
  • warm, clear jazz tone with the controls set neutral, front pickup;
  • the middle pickup setting (both pickups): the 1960's-70's Gretsch sound that Chet Atkins used to have, still very warm but with some sparkle;
  • the back pickup great country or rockabilly sound;
  • unplugged has a sweet accustic sound;

Pros of Epiphone Elitist Sheraton Electric Guitar

  • semi-hollow body guitar;
  • beautiful wood;
  • very nicely setup;
  • you can draw a comparison between this and a Gibson 335 and a Fender Strat\Tele;
  • very versatile, feel free to try any styles;;
  • reliable, stays in tune amazingly well ;
  • good durability;
  • it isn't so thick and chunky as a Les Paul, nor is it as thin and spanky as a Strat, closest to a 335, but clearer, snappier, and more dynamically responsive.
